“The Rise of Regency: Women’s Power Years 45-70”
In this presentation, I engaged with current research, women’s rising power, principles of psychology, and life stage theory. Women’s life spans have almost doubled since 1900. This has created a new stage of life for women, potentially lasting another 20-25 years, enfolding within it perimenopause, midlife, and menopause. Now, potentially, 60 is the new 40, and 70 is the new 50! The power of women over 40 in culture, business, and politics are on the rise. Where does this power come from and what might it mean for women, society, and humanity?

Conference Breakout | 1 hour
This interactive session invites women to explore the possibility that aging is not a disease, and why many women hit their stride after 40, 50, or even 60. We will discover how perimenopause, midlife, and menopause can be among the most exciting and creative times of your life. Find out how your story and your beliefs about it affect everything you do and think. Begin to recover, remember, and rediscover your passions and your “True North” so you can embrace and make the most of your Regency years. These sessions include interactive exercises, writing prompts, and take home exercises to expand your perspective on this stage of life
Conference Workshop | 3 hours
This three-hour workshop includes the conference break out content as well as a deeper exploration of Regency, the 25 years from 45-70. Through discussion and creative group exercises, we will envision how these power years include a treasure that is revealed while experiencing the physiological and psychological refiner’s fires of perimenopause, menopause and midlife. We will discover that these alchemical transformations are not diseases, nor are they the endings of vitality and meaning; they are physical, spiritual, and emotional transformations, they are rites of passage. Emerging from this fire, women in their Regency years are rising up to forge their experience and wisdom into influence and power. We will engage with the power of metaphor and myth in creating the beginnings of an action plan for the chapters ahead. We will utilize a template to help create our own rite of passage ceremonies to honor and activate the potential within this time of our lives.
